The Most Valuable Lesson I Learned From Playing Agario
When people think about agario, they usually think about growing bigger.
That makes sense.
After all, the entire goal of the game is to gain mass, become larger than other players, and survive for as long as possible.
But after spending countless hours playing over the years, I’ve realized that the most important lesson agario taught me has nothing to do with getting bigger.
It’s about knowing when enough is enough.
And trust me, I learned that lesson the hard way.
My Early Strategy: Eat Everything
When I first discovered agario, I approached every match with exactly one strategy.
Attack.
If I saw a smaller player, I chased them.
If I thought I could split and secure an elimination, I did it.
If there was even the slightest opportunity to gain mass, I went for it.
At the time, this seemed logical.
More eliminations meant more growth.
More growth meant a better chance of reaching the leaderboard.
The problem was that I rarely survived very long.
I was constantly taking risks.
Sometimes they paid off.
Most of the time, they didn’t.
Looking back, I spent more time restarting matches than actually playing them.
The Match That Changed Everything
One evening, I had a game that completely changed the way I approached agario.
I wasn’t doing anything special.
In fact, I was playing unusually cautiously.
I avoided dangerous situations.
I stayed away from crowded areas.
I focused on steady growth rather than quick gains.
Slowly, my cell became larger.
Then larger still.
Before I realized it, I was one of the biggest players on the server.
The surprising part wasn’t reaching that position.
The surprising part was how little aggression it had required.
I wasn’t dominating everyone around me.
I was simply making fewer mistakes.
That realization stuck with me.
