To evade the cacti, the player must make the dinosaur leap over them by pressing the spacebar or the up arrow key. To evade the second barrier (flying pterodactyls), the player must duck by hitting the down arrow key. Upon the dinosaur colliding with any obstacle, the dino game ceases and presents the score. Points are awarded based on the duration of gameplay. The objective of the game is to endure for the maximum duration. Throughout the game, the background color alternates between white and black, representing day and night. In the integrated browser game, the T-Rex Dino runner ceases not just upon colliding with an obstacle but also when the internet connection is reestablished.
